DESCRIPTION

The XCN close coupled, end suction, single stage horizontal centrifugal pump is standardised to DIN 24255 / EN 733 and can be used for a vast range of applications in the industrial and marine markets. It is designed to pump low viscosity clean or slightly contaminated fluids without the presence of solid or fibrous particles. Common fluids pumped include fresh water, sea water and fuels (diesel, petrol and kerosene) and common applications include fuel transfer, irrigation, water supply, water treatment, pressurisation, grey water, dewatering, building systems, marine and cooling/heating conditioning (HVAC).  If required, this pump is available in a vertical version.

The close coupled horizontal centrifugal pump design has many benefits:

The compact horizontal close coupled design means the pump can be installed where there are space limitations. The back pull out design allows the motor to be removed while the pump is still connected to the pipework, this in turn allows time saving while the pump is serviced/maintained.

The centrifugal pump and motor have independent shafts, this means that only the pump shaft will need to be replaced in the event of it breaking. Other less robust horizontal centrifugal pumps on the market only use the motor shaft, this means that if the shaft breaks, the entire motor needs to be replaced.

A lantern bracket is installed between the pump and motor, this creates a space protecting the motor from fluid ingress in the case of a seal failure.

Wear rings can be installed in the pump head, this is a sacrificial part that wears first protecting the impeller and casing from wear and prolonging the life of these parts and therefore the pump.

The XCN horizontal centrifugal pump and vertical centrifugal pump is also available in an ATEX version for handling flammable fluids or being installed in a non-safe area.

If required, the XCN close coupled horizontal centrifugal pump can be supplied with an external air powered or electric priming pump for applications where a suction lift is unavoidable.

FAQS

We supply all parts associated with the Azcue AN series of centrifugal pumps, these include; impellers, shafts, mechanical seals, casings, o-rings and gaskets. Any parts labelled on the drawing and parts list are available for purchase.
The pump needs to be disassembled and inspected as part of a maintenance program to correctly identify any damaged parts. The drawing and parts list then need to be viewed to find the correct part description and position number.
The basic information required to obtain a quotation includes; the pump model number, serial number if available, description or name of the part and the position number of the part if available. This information allows us to correctly identify the parts required and to identify the correct materials. The serial number is a 6 digit number, beginning with either 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending on the age of the pump.
Premature pump failure can be an indication of system problems or incorrect pump selection. Common causes of premature pump failure include; incompatibility of the pump materials with the fluid, incorrect pipework size, incorrect type of pump and incorrect size of pump. We can help identify the cause of your pump failure if you provide the following information; description of the application, fluid being pumped, viscosity, temperature, flow rate required, pressure required, inlet conditions and bore of pipework.
